There are thousands of tools and platforms that can boost our businesses and grow our professional presence online. Pinterest is no different and when we really know how to tap into it, it can help our business to expand.

How does Pinterest work for the B2B space? What are some of the things we need to familiarize ourselves with before getting started with Pinterest?

In this episode, I am joined by Pinterest Marketing and Ads Strategist Emilee Vales to talk about Pinterest for business, how to understand it better, how it makes content easier to consume, and the pros of being a freelancer.

In the beginning for a while, I really just learned by doing.- Emilee Vales

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

- The best products to market on Pinterest

Pinterest doesn’t work for everyone but how can we figure out if it can work for us and our business?

- How Pinterest can work for businesses

Can we leverage Pinterest as a business marketing tool and not just a place for inspiration?

- The flexibility of being a freelancer

Many women in the B2C and the B2B space are finding themselves in the business friendzone. We help other people with their lives, relationships, health and more, and become so familiar, we get treated as a friend rather than a mentor.

Why is being in the friendzone in the marketing industry a huge problem? And how do we fix it?

In this episode, I discuss how to move out of the friendzone and into the mentorship zone, why we don’t want to be in the friendzone and why so many wonderful women are finding themselves in this position.

We don’t want to be in the friendzone because otherwise you’re just building a business that doesn’t give anything back to you. -Dana Malstaff

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

-How to tell if you’re in the friendzone

There are certain indicators that can tell us if we’re in the business friendzone. How do we figure out what these are?

-Share your scars, not your wounds

When it comes to sharing our experiences, how do we make sure that we share them as a way to move forward?

-How verbiage can tell if you are putting yourself in the friendzone.

Can the language we use in our texts, emails and even daily conversations can be a contributing factor to putting ourselves in the friendzone?

In an age where everything is so fast-paced, it can be difficult to slow down and connect with people on a meaningful level. It’s becoming increasingly hard to find people that align with us and what we stand for.

How do we slow down and form meaningful relationships and uplift one another? How can we help others and ourselves feel less disconnected and lonely?

In this episode, author Amy Daughters joins me to talk about her book "Dear Dana: That time I went crazy and wrote all 580 of my Facebook Friends a Letter." and how she’s touched so many lives by simply sending a handwritten letter. We also talk about the value of giving people your time, forming relationships and why it’s good to vent to people who aren’t really in your circle.

People felt compelled to share with me because they felt like they were being treated as an individual which turned out to be very powerful. -Amy Daughters

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • The power of sharing your story
Can the simple act of sharing our experiences uplift and empower others even if it makes us feel vulnerable?

  • Following your intuition
How do we start listening to and following our gut feelings?

  • Why you don’t need to fit in to be a good friend
Everyone has different cultures, stories and experiences. How can we show up for people that are different from us?
