Welcome AMAZING BOSS MOM We are so glad you found us because that means you have a burning desire to create something in this world...something that positively impacts people AND also makes you money. You are in the right place. Here at Boss Mom, we know all too well the challenges of raising babies and businesses at the same time and you need more than just great resources (which we have) you also need a strong support system (we have that too). Just like all moms you need a simple business because life is complex and you should never have to apologize for having a sometimes unpredictable schedule. You can build a really successful (and profitable) business in 15 hours a week, you just have to know how (and we are going to show you). We interview amazing ladies who share their struggles and successes as well as solo episodes where I guide you through our Nurture to Convert System designed to help Boss Moms raise their business and babies at the same time. I'm Dana Malstaff, founder and CEO of Boss Mom LLC, and I'll be your host.

When we’re surrounded by cluttered countertops and messy living spaces, it can take a toll on our emotions and our minds. Often, we end up feeling overwhelmed by the mammoth task of clearing it all, unsure of where to even begin.

That being said, the process of decluttering a home is about more than a cleaner house. When we don’t have the option of hiding behind hours of tidying, we’re forced to deal with what’s really going on in our lives.

Cleaning the house and organizing gives us an opportunity to decide what truly makes us happy. Why hold onto things that make us feel anything less than amazing? What does clutter tell us about how we feel? How do we decide what to keep and what needs to go?

In this episode, Founder of Motherhood Simplified, Krista Lockwood shares how to declutter our homes and our lives.

Strip away the unnecessary objects you’re holding onto, so you can spend more time with the things you love. -Dana Malstaff

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  1. Why tidying is about clearing both internal and external baggage
What’s going on around us physically is almost always a reflection of what we’re dealing with internally. Be mindful that decluttering is an emotional experience, and when we free up space in our homes, we also free up space in our minds.
  2. How fear of lack holds us back from a decluttered space
When we hold onto items due to fear of not being able to afford them in future, we’re tapping into a scarcity mindset. Change the narrative by asking “what is this taking from me?” rather than “what if I can’t get this later on?” If we’re sacrificing joy by keeping something, it’s simply not worth it.
  3. What we should be removing from our space today
When we start our mornings feeling like nothing in our closets fits us or makes us feel good about ourselves, that sets a negative tone for the rest of the day. We have to stop holding onto things that don’t make us feel our best.

Guest Bio-

Krista Lockwood is the Founder of Motherhood Simplified, where she teaches decluttering for moms who don’t want to be full blown minimalists. In 2013, she and her husband moved from Alaska to Florida with only one suitcase each. While she doesn't believe you need to go that extreme, she has been able to master the balance of having enough, but not too much. Krista strongly believes we all have what it takes to create the lives and homes we want, no matter what that looks like. On top of her courses offered on decluttering, Krista is the host of the Motherhood Simplified Podcast.
