Coaching is an incredible way to impart your wisdom and impact people’s lives, but how do we consistently get clients without making our lives more stressful?

If we want to build a coaching business that reaches the six-figure mark, we have to create a refined toolkit that gets specific results. On top of that, we don’t want to be the best kept secret, we want to be known, and bring in people excited to work with us.

How do you become a good coach, find clients you get the best results for, and nurture your leads to a sale?

In this episode, I share 8 things that will help us build and grow a life-changing coaching business

Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why we can’t build a coaching business that helps everyone

As naturally nurturing people, we yearn to help everyone, but if they don’t have emotional, financial and time resources, they won’t get results. What do we need to focus our energy on instead?

  • How to multiply your impact by building a system

How do you build your coaching toolkit so your big beautiful brain is free to create deeper connections and results?

  • Teaching vs. motivation

If we focus on just teaching, we’ll drive our clients to other coaches. Why is motivation an important component of a coaching business that gets clients consistently?

  • Why you need to share your opinions like crazy

People hire coaches they believe in. Why does sharing our opinions set us apart and get people excited about working with us?

We all have to deal with adversity at some point in our lives, and one of the best ways to navigate difficult experiences while keeping our businesses up and running is by having a coach.

How can we find a coach whose areas of expertise match up seamlessly with our needs? Better yet, how can we use our own experiences to help coach others with their challenges?

In this episode, COO of The Coaching Masters, Liam James Collins shares how coaching can help us take our businesses to the next level and make a meaningful impact on people.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • What makes coaching so important

We already know we have what it takes to make our dreams a reality, so is it really necessary to have a coach when we’re not dealing with adversity?

  • The biggest misconceptions about Neurolinguistic Programming

What is NLP, and what causes some to shy away from it?

  • How to make room for ourselves in the coaching space

It seems like every time we open social media, another coaching program pops up. Is it even possible to break into coaching when the market is nearing saturation point?

We all know how dangerous burnout can be, but many of us are still overworking ourselves both as business owners and as moms. Why are we killing ourselves trying to do it all, and how can we stop getting to the point of overwhelm before slowing down?

How can we get better at filling our cups before tending to our children and businesses? Can we prioritize our wellbeing and still make all our dreams a reality?

There’s a lot of trial and error in starting a business, and it’s easy to end up feeling knocked around by what works and what doesn’t, on top of raising our kids. With all of this going on, how can we approach our businesses from a place of calmness?

Is it possible to be multi-focused and still get things done? How can we find our inner peace while we deal with all the inevitable ups and downs?

In this episode, the Creator of Refreshed Moms, Deanna Mason returns to the show to share how to prioritize rest as Boss Moms.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why having space is non-negotiable

No good ideas can come from a chaotic backdrop, so why are we letting our mental, emotional and spiritual ‘space’ become an afterthought?

  • How to get grounded

How can we connect with our value and worth more regularly and in a deeper way?

  • Why we need to move away from ‘self-care’ reasoning

Self-care is a nice buzzword, but could it be holding us back from really prioritizing our inner wellbeing?

Turning 40 is a huge milestone and a birthday that feels different from other ones. A pivotal birthday brings up so many feelings - fear, excitement, anticipation, joy, apprehension, and tons of questions about what getting older means to us.

The older we get, the more we see how much we’ve lived, and how much more we still have to experience if we choose to stay young at heart and young in mind.

How do we age gracefully, on our terms, and continue to strive towards being the best version of ourselves?

In this very special episode of the Boss Mom podcast, I share my thoughts and feelings about getting older, as I count down to my 40th birthday.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to age on your terms

We can be anything we want to be, at any age, Look at what you want to accomplish, without wondering whether you should, whether you should have already done it, or if you’re too old to do it.

  • Why our age shouldn’t limit what we can accomplish

Aging doesn’t mean doing or trying less. We have the opportunity to become the best version of ourselves by staying in constant curiosity, and continually striving for new thoughts, ideas, and skills.

  • How to shift your mindset about getting older

Our age doesn’t have to be something that happens to us, or something bad. It’s something we should wear proudly because we’ve earned every wrinkle, line, experience, and every ounce of our wisdom.
May 13, 2021

As moms, we know how unpredictable life can be, so it’s normal to have some bad days. However, they should always be in the minority, and if they aren’t, it may be time to take a look at our parenting strategies.

Could our present approach be making us more susceptible to an endless cycle of ‘off’ days? Where are we going wrong?

Can we switch it up so the good days outnumber the bad?

In this episode, co-author of Parenting While Working from Home and co-owner of AdoreThemParenting.com, Shari Medini shares how to implement positive parenting.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why we need to be mindful of what we’re taking in

Parenting isn’t always glamorous, and that’s what makes cynically funny blogs so relatable. However, while it’s important to validate our experiences, getting too caught up in the negatives will only add to our frustrations, so we have to remind ourselves of the good, too.

  • How to create a more positive dynamic with our kids

‘Because I said so’ is often a go-to response when our kids question us, but it’s not the most conducive to their learning. By explaining to our children why they need to do something, we can open up a conversation, rather than issue commands.

  • Why positive parenting isn’t lax parenting

Positive parenting isn't about giving our kids free rein to do whatever they want: in fact, it's a way to give them more responsibility, while setting boundaries. This gives them the space to make their own decisions with our guidance, instead of our micromanagement.

We often hear that time heals all wounds, but unfortunately, that isn’t always the case. Trauma is tricky, and if we aren’t dealing with it head on, we run the risk of reliving our darkest days, or worse: passing them on to our kids.

How can we get started with the process of healing our scars, so we can prevent them from festering in other areas of our lives? Is there a way to cure our trauma for good, so it stops controlling us?

In this episode, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of MomConnections, Amelia Mora Mars shares the steps we can take to stop letting our past control our present and define our future.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to recognize the lies we tell ourselves
Many of us tell ourselves we’re too busy to sit with our thoughts and really feel them, but that’s just not true. Slowing down to listen to our inner voices is uncomfortable, but it’s also completely necessary.

  • Why forgiveness is about us, first and foremost
Hating a person for their actions towards us may feel like it’s hurting them, but it hurts us more.

  • When to shift our focus within
Bad experiences throughout our lives can put us into constant survival mode, and that’s exhausting. How do we start focusing on what’s best for ourselves and our mental health?

Guest Bio-

Running flash sales is a great way to bring in a ton of revenue, so it’s something all Boss Moms should consider adding to their business models. Where do we start, and is there a right way to do it?

In times like these, when so many people are uncertain about their financial futures, our best bet is to limit our flash sales to lower-priced items. The only question is, how big can our results be from small sales?

Can sales on low-priced items translate to something bigger?

In this episode, I share why flash sales are the method used by millionaires

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why we should never discount the power of a low-priced product
Flash sales on smaller products don’t always sound exciting, but the results can be incredible. Charging between $27 and $47 for something small but useful creates an ‘easy yes’ for customers, and can quickly translate into $10,000 in just one day.

  • How to add an upsell to ‘easy yes’ products
Our customers may be on our websites for a sale, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be interested in other, similar products. Link relevant items on the checkout page and suggest them as add-ons.

  • How to ensure an ‘easy yes’ really is easy
A lower price point makes it easy for customers to agree to, but a complicated product will keep them thinking twice. Make sure ‘easy yes’ products offer simple solutions to very specific problems, like gaining 15 more Instagram followers or making 5 additional sales.

Intimacy is an incredibly important part of any relationship because it helps us relate to our loved ones. However, getting that intimacy right isn't always easy.

For many women, intimacy comes with challenges, and many of those stem from not understanding what our loved ones need from us, or what we need from them. Real intimacy takes work, but it's worth it. The only question is, where do we start?

How can we get better at connecting with our significant others when it feels like we're just not in sync? Is it possible to completely connect when we have so much going on in our lives already?

In this episode, best-selling author, speaker, and intimacy coach, Leona Carter shares how to foster deeper connections with our partners.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why intimacy is something we have to work towards

By the time both we and our partners have come home from work, we've spent hours apart, so we shouldn't expect to be in the mood as soon as we walk through the door. Especially as women, we have to feel connected to our partners, so start by having a conversation and connecting.

  • How to get into the right headspace for intimacy

It's tough to be present when just a minute ago we were getting the kids to bed or hopping off a business call. Instead of heading right into the bedroom with our partner, it's a good idea to take a moment to re-center and feel like ourselves, outside of being business owners and moms.

  • The importance of communication

Most of us are guilty of thinking our partner should know what we want or need, but that just isn't the case. We have to get better at expressing ourselves, and if we're still finding that challenging, seek the help of a coach!

Setting boundaries is a huge part of taking control of our lives, but doing that can be ridiculously difficult if we're codependent. The only problem is, many of us don't know if we fall into that category or not.

Despite codependence being a buzzword we're hearing a lot at the moment, many of us are still unsure about what exactly codependency is. So, what is it?

Could we be codependent without realizing it? Is there anything we can do to break the cycle of people-pleasing for good if we know we're in the habit?

In this episode, psychotherapist Michelle Farris shares the tell-tale signs of codependency and what to do about it!

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • What codependency means

At its core, codependency is a relationship pattern where we focus on other people's best interests at our own expense. While it's perfectly normal to make sacrifices for loved ones from time to time, with codependency it becomes the rule, rather than the exception.

  • How to tell the difference between being helpful and being codependent

There will always be times we don't feel like doing something, but when we really don't want to, we'll feel it in our gut. If we're ignoring our intuition because we're worried about someone else's reaction (and if we're doing it repeatedly) we're not just being helpful, we're breaking our boundaries.

  • Why codependency breeds resentment

When we set unrealistic expectations of people-pleasing for ourselves, we start believing the people around us should be acting the same way without ever communicating that to them. This only leads to bitterness in the long term, and it could all be avoided in the first place.

We’ve spent an entire year in various forms of lockdown, so it’s no surprise that discussions about mental health are a top priority for many of us at this moment. As moms, we must check in with ourselves, and we have to ensure our kids are feeling their best, too.

Feeling needed, loved, and worthy are essential for survival, but getting to that point isn’t always easy.

What can we do to start feeling genuine self-love, so we can model that kind of behavior for our children? Outside of reminding our kids that they’re worthy, how can we help them start believing that to be true?

In this episode, award-winning author and teen confidence expert, Jacqui Letran shares how to build real, unconditional self-love in ourselves and our children.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why we're approaching mental health all wrong

Far too often we treat the symptoms of anxiety and depression when we should mitigate them from the start. It's more beneficial to deal with the source, rather than the outcome.

  • When positivity becomes damaging

Telling ourselves we’re amazing every day may sound like a good idea, but if we don’t feel like we’re amazing, it could be detrimental. Instead of focusing on the words we say to ourselves, we have to think about how we feel.

  • How to start believing affirmations, one step at a time

Ambitious affirmations can get overwhelming fast, so start small. Rather than saying we are brilliant, or even saying we ‘feel’ brilliant, it’s a good idea to start with ‘I am willing to be or feel brilliant’.

Experiencing some kind of pain has become normalized in our society, but it shouldn’t be. We shouldn’t have to put up with stomach aches, back pain, or headaches for the sake of it, because it’s not normal to feel physically uncomfortable.

The only problem is, the main alternative to pain is an over-the-counter medication, and no one wants to be popping pills every day.

Is there a way to address our ailments without giving into chemical solutions filled with ingredients we can’t even read, let alone say out loud?

In this episode, the Founder of Ashima Natural Remedies, Ashima Bhaidasna shares how she used extensive research and cultural knowledge passed down to her through generations to create a brand that helps people treat their ailments naturally.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why natural remedies are a mom’s best friend

On top of over-the-counter medications having a ton of chemical ingredients we can’t even pronounce, many medications cannot be administered to children. That makes natural products a great alternative for our little ones when they’re feeling under the weather.

  • How herbal solutions nix guilt

Essential oils can make us feel good physically and have an added benefit over painkillers. When we use natural treatments instead of chemical ingredients, we have peace of mind knowing exactly what we’re putting on or into our bodies.

  • What makes natural alternatives a great option for busy families

Many of us gravitate towards over-the-counter medications for convenience, but natural remedies don’t need to be time-consuming. Natural medicine can save us time and stop us from going to the doctor any time we need relief from things like back pain and menstrual cramps.

A lot of Boss Moms think they're alone in struggling to get clarity in their businesses, but that couldn't be further from the truth! Grappling with clarity is something most entrepreneurs deal with.

What is it that makes clarity so difficult to attain? Is there a way to get clarity, once and for all, or is that entirely unrealistic?

If clarity is elusive for business owners across the board, what can we do to get closer to it, one step at a time?

In this episode, I share how to rethink clarity in our businesses.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why clarity doesn't exist in a vacuum

Many of us can relate to taking time to find clarity, only to have reality creep in and leave us feeling even more confused than before. That's because clarity needs to coexist with the real world.

  • Why there's no single path to clarity

Even the biggest billion-dollar corporation doesn't have constant clarity, and that's because as our audience evolves, we need to adapt. True clarity comes from a constant state of market research.

  • How to stop letting rejection throw us off balance

Many of our ideas will never come to life because they're just not feasible, but that's not something to get offended over. There's always a first draft for everything, and with every tweak to our original ideas, we get closer to bigger results.

Sports are a big part of many people's lives, so having an idea of what's going on in the sporting world is a great way to foster relationships. The only question is, what if we aren't into it ourselves?

For those of us who aren't major sports fanatics, the thought of participating in discussions about last night's game can feel a little daunting. However, we don't need to become experts just to join a conversation.

What can we do to empower ourselves to join in with conversations about sports when we're not avid fans? Is there a way to do it without spending hours understanding a game?

In this episode, the Founder of Last Night's Game, Amy Buchan Siegfried shares why a little bit of information goes a long way.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why bite-sized bits of information make a bigger impact
No one wants to spend hours reading up on a sport just to make conversation. Short, sweet, to the point reads give us just what we need without going down a rabbit hole.

  • How having a basic knowledge of sports helps us connect with others
Even if we aren't into sports ourselves, a lot of people are, and that means having a working knowledge of recent sporting events puts us at an advantage. Whether we're jumping into conversations with our loved ones or using our knowledge to build connections with our colleagues and business partners, having even a small understanding is an asset.

  • The importance of keeping learning fun
No one is going to learn anything by watching a box score. If we're interested in learning about a sport (or anything, for that matter!) we've got to keep it fun.

Building a brilliant business doesn’t always mean we have to come up with an entirely new idea. Sometimes, all it takes is looking at existing concepts in a new way.

Unfortunately, there are times when that can be easier said than done, but even that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the road for our creativity. All that means is we need to create the right partnerships- but how do we do that?

How can we create the type of partnerships that help us see things in new, exciting ways? When will we know if we’ve found the ‘right’ business partner?

In this episode, Co-Founder of Doddle & Co., Nicky Radzely shares how she and her business partner rethought pacifiers and built a million-dollar business.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Where to find inspiration for product design
It’s often tempting to look at current trends for ideas, but that only limits us. Scour around, look at design techniques in entirely different industries, and think about what the consumer 3 years into the future wants.

  • The importance of building a family of products that look related
The best-known brands are the ones with a cohesive look and feel, so everything in our product lines should feature similar characteristics. We want our consumers to know it’s our product without even seeing a brand name.

  • How to develop new products out of old ideas
No product in the world can’t be reworked or tweaked to meet the needs of today’s consumers. Sometimes, all it takes is meeting someone whose vision is different from our own.

As moms and business owners, balancing time and energy between our different kinds of babies can feel overwhelming on its own, but what happens for those of us who have fur babies too?

Our pets are an important part of our lives, and having them around during stressful times like these is an absolute blessing. However, we also have to ensure we’re giving them the attention and training they need, and when we already have a lot going on, that can feel like a chore.

How can we stop looking at training from a purely logistical perspective and turn it into something fun? Is it possible to make training feel like we’re playing with our pets?

In this episode, Founder of Miss Behavior, Laura Gendron shares how to change the way we look at pet training.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to keep training our pets when we have a lot going on:

By the time we’ve finished everything we need to do in a day, training often feels like too much, but by incorporating that training into our existing routines, we can change that. Start with things like teaching a dog to down-stay every time we open the fridge or getting them to sit by themselves when we go into another room.

  • How to proactively replace our dogs’ bad behavior:

To get our dogs to stop doing one thing, we have to replace that action with something else. Teach them a skill that becomes more rewarding for them than the initial behavior, like going into a down-stay instead of barking excessively.

  • What to do when we’re dealing with emotional dogs:

Some dogs are more reactive and emotional than others, and that can become a challenge. However, we have to remember that we’re not the only ones in the situation, and small replacements of bad behavior go a long way.

Debt is something many of us have gone through, but most of us just don’t want to talk about it, and that’s because we’re talking about it the wrong way.

Opening up about our financial situations can be intimidating, but it’s something we need to get comfortable doing if we want to move forward. The only thing is, so many of us are trapped in silence because we’re afraid of being judged.

How can we stop the cycle of shame for good and change the way we think about debt? Can we change the way we talk about money with our kids, so they don’t need to go through the same mistakes we’ve made?

In this episode, Founder of Inspired Budget, Allison Baggerly shares how to change our spending habits for the better.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why we need to end the stigma around debt:

So often, when people find themselves in debt, they end up keeping it to themselves because they feel ashamed, but that isn’t productive, and it doesn’t solve the problem. We have to remember that debt doesn’t make us unlovable, and with the right plan, we can get out of it.

  • How our emotions play a role in our debt:

For many women, shopping gives us an outlet to our emotions, so we end up spending money for short-term joy. The problem is, these moments never last long, so we have to get better at sitting with our emotions, instead of splurging the moment they arise.

  • Why high-earners need to change how they think about money:

When we’re bringing in a ton of money, it’s easy to spend on unnecessary luxuries, but that doesn’t mean we should. It’s important to think about what we really want/ what deserves to be splurged on and stop diverting from that path.

Choosing our children’s college is the biggest financial decision our families will ever make, so we have to be as informed as possible going into it.

The problem is, many of us simply don't know how much college costs, or how much we should be paying for it. How can we begin to advise our kids when we don't even know where to start ourselves?

The only way we'll find out is by asking the right questions. So what should we be asking?

In this episode, New York Times Columnist and author of The Price You Pay for College, Ron Lieber shares what we need to know about college tuition.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to change the way we think about thrift:

In recent years, the word ‘thrift’ has got some bad press, but there’s nothing negative about it. Thrift is about spending money on the things we value most, while saving on everything else.

  • How to prepare our kids for the biggest financial decision of their lives:

We can’t expect our children to make great financial choices if their biggest purchase to date is a bicycle, so teach them to understand how money works from a young age. Give them an allowance and let them learn through trial and error, so when the bigger decisions arise they’ll have a better idea of what to do.

  • How to calculate how much to spend on college:

The key to working out how much college should cost lies in asking really good questions. Before making a final decision on any college, we have to do the research to unearth how much value our kids will get from the experience, and what they’ll be able to do with their qualification, post-graduation.

The copywriting space is booming, but with so many writers from a ton of different industries moving into it, it's more important than ever before to set ourselves apart. Creating a personality for our brand is a great way to do that, but how can we make sure it still feels authentic to who we are?

Assuming a character helps keep us top of mind for our clients, but it's only effective when it fits in with our existing personalities. Is there a way to strike a balance between the two?

What can we do to ensure our work is a true reflection of us, our personalities, and our quirks?

In this episode, Co-Founder of The Copywriter Club and self-proclaimed Copy Chef, Kira Hug shares how to build a business by being unique.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to take the plunge into the copywriting pool:

Copywriters get a lot of work opportunities from other copywriters, so get in the same room as them and start building genuine relationships. The great thing is, it’s easier than ever before to get into those rooms because so many have moved online.

  • What makes copywriting essential in any business:

Without the right words to express our brands and what we stand for, no one will hear our voices. Great copywriting makes it easier to stand out in a sea of competitors.

  • Why business owners should have a working knowledge of copywriting:

It’s easier to give direction or edit when necessary when we have a general understanding of the processes that go into copywriting. Knowing the basics is a valuable skill for any business owner to have, so take the time to learn more about it.

When it comes to standing out in our markets, we tend to think of things like social media marketing as our first port of call. However, while being visible online is important, it’s not the first step to cementing our place in the market, creating a framework is.

Whether we refer to it as our framework, model, or system, being known for what we do and how we do it is the key to standing out in our ideal clients’ eyes. The question is, how do we create a model worthy of being spoken about in the first place?

What does a successful system look like? Is there a central blueprint we should all be working from?

In this episode, you’re invited to a Nurture to Convert training session on establishing effective business frameworks that clients will remember us by.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why defining our system is non-negotiable in sales:

Each product we sell takes our clients from point A to point B. As the suppliers, we have to be able to pinpoint exactly what each of those points looks like, and what it takes to get there.

  • How to identify our process, step by step:

Our plans shouldn’t be too elaborate, in fact, they should be simple enough to sketch on the back of a napkin in a matter of seconds. From Venn Diagrams to pyramid charts, there are a ton of ways to do it, but the most important thing is to find what works for us.

  • Why talking about our frameworks is more important than we think:

We have to talk about our business model anywhere and everywhere, from social media to offline engagements. The only way we’ll become famous for our processes is if people know we’re the ones behind them.

When we’re caught up in the hustle and bustle of running our businesses, it’s easy to lose sight of the impact we’re making on our clients. However, sometimes even the smallest service we provide can make all the difference in someone else’s life.

As business owners, we have the potential to transform our clients’ lives, from how they get things done, to how they feel about themselves. Wouldn’t it be great to tap into that power and use it for good?

How can we channel our energies into creating something that truly makes a difference in our clients’ lives, so they can shine a little brighter in their own world and pay it forward?

In this episode, Co-CEO and Master Cosmetologist at Transformations Beauty Studio, Derricka Traylor shares how she’s built a hair salon that goes beyond offering a service.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to use our businesses to create safe spaces for women:

Creating an environment where women can share their stories, catch up with friends and truly unwind does more good than we sometimes realize. Make a point of building genuine relationships with clients so they feel comfortable in the space.

  • The key to connecting with clients on a deeper level:

It’s one thing to listen to clients when they’re talking, it’s another to remember small details and check in with them a couple weeks down the line. Get invested in their lives and show them their stories are worthy of attention and love.

  • How to unwind in times of trauma:

We all go through difficult periods, and the key to surviving them lies in relaxing activities. This could be reading, catching up with a friend, or even going to the salon, but the most important thing is to find what works for us.

Having strong relationships with our children is something all mothers aspire to, but in the case of girl moms, it may be even more important than we realize. That’s because when raising daughters, we have an opportunity to empower the future generation of women.

As Boss Moms, many of us are motivated by the thought of using our businesses to uplift other women, but sometimes shifting our focus to creating a strong foundation for our own daughters can make an even bigger impact.

That being said, girl moms often struggle to draw the line between creating ‘mini-me’s’ and allowing our daughters to become the best versions of themselves

How do we find the balance between guiding them to great things and giving them the space to decide who they are? How do we become parents to daughters who thrive in their own right?

Is it possible to do all that when we’re dealing with baggage of our own?

In this episode, host of the Mother Daughter Connections Podcast, Dr. Michelle Deering shares how to build stronger, more empowering relationships with our daughters.

Three Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • The key to healthier communication with our children:

Understanding is vital for real conversations with our kids. When disagreements arise, we have to be mindful of where they’re at and what they’re going through, and then tailor our responses to that.

  • Why moving forward requires reflection:

We can’t fix anything without facing it first. By taking a deep look into what’s going on in our own lives, we’ll be able to better understand why certain words, actions, and behaviors trigger us

  • How to unearth our personal issues when we aren’t aware of them:

Self-reflection is often easier said than done, and more so when we aren’t aware of what’s holding us back. Sometimes it’s helpful to have someone else point those things out to us, whether that person be a friend, family member, or a therapist.

Running a business while being a mom isn’t always easy, and the events of last year only added to the challenges. However, there is something to be grateful for every day, and sometimes we just need a shift in perspective to see it.

Finding the ray of sunshine in any situation isn’t always easy, but it’s possible if we’re willing to look past the obstacles we’re faced with.

How can we find joy each day, no matter what life throws our way? What can we do to remind ourselves that we are enough as we are, and channel that energy into everything we do?

In this episode, host of The Small Victories Podcast and founder of One Leg Up Productions, Pauline Victoria shares how she finds happiness each day as a woman born without limbs.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to stop letting hard times get us down:
Most entrepreneurs can relate to super high highs and devastating low lows. While no one wants to hit a low point, it’s important to remember that the most growth comes from the hard times.

  • Why we need to stop trying to do it all on our own:
Over the past couple of years, it’s become a badge of honor to say we do everything on our own… but the truth is no one enjoys doing everything, and no one is good at juggling it all. Have the right people on hand and know when to ask for help.

  • How to overcome rejection:
The two things that keep us from going after our dreams are judgment and feelings of unworthiness. Combat the first by remembering that people’s reactions to our products, businesses, and even ourselves are a reflection of them, not us.

We all want to have great businesses that make money, solve problems, and help people to get results.

As e-learning continues to boom, it’s become more critical to have tools that allow people to learn on their mobile devices. More and more people want to learn on-the-go and in podcast format.

The more spaces we can create that make education easy, the more we can cut through the challenges of getting people to use and implement our content.

My guest today is a Boss Mom who built an audio platform that allows course creators to turn their content into private podcasts. How does the platform work, and how can it help people get better results from our courses?

In this episode, entrepreneur and founder of Hiro.fm, Carla White shares the power of learning through listening, and why the future of e-learning is on our phones.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why e-learning still has so much opportunity and room to grow:

E-learning is a multi-billion dollar industry, but it hasn’t really changed much since its inception. Much of e-learning is still tethered to computers, which makes it hard for us to learn on-the-go. Hiro.fm allows course creators to upload their content in podcast form, allowing people to listen and learn on-the-move.

  • How to meet the demand of today’s e-learning students:

People want relevant, on-demand content that solves specific problems. They want targeted educational information that is dispensed through a channel that makes internalizing and implementing it easier.

  • How to publish content that matches how we learn:

There are 3 levels of education, listening, learning, and implementation. When e-learning is tethered to a computer, a lot of people are only able to listen, they don’t have the time or the space to implement it. The people who find the most success in our programs are the ones who can actively listen to things over and over. If we can allow people to learn on-the-go, while they’re making dinner, driving their kids around, or working out, we can give them more space to internalize and implement.

Guest Bio:

Last week I talked about the 3 areas we need to think about as we visualize what we want in the future.

Those emotional, environmental, and financial goals form a baseline and a scaffolding for what we have to prioritize.

In order to commit to the activities that get us what we want, we have to get clear on the opportunities we should seize and what we need to let go of. If we try to leverage too many things, we risk diluting our effectiveness.

In this episode, I share the two things that will help you commit to and stick with what you want to accomplish.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Every single day presents opportunities. A New Year isn’t what triggers renewal or a commitment to our goals. It's a mental choice we have to make, and we can make it at any time of the year.
  • Saying no to things is a learned skill, it takes practice and courage to get comfortable with it. Practice saying no out loud to overcome the fear and discomfort you might have around saying it to other people.
  • No matter how strong your commitment to a goal is, distractions, setbacks, and unpredictable moments are inevitable. Accept that you’ll need mental, emotional, and personal space, and plan for it.
