A lot of the messaging we hear in business today is all about fast growth, overnight success, and things falling into place quickly, and we feel bad because we aren’t “successful yet”.

Building a really great business takes time, and that’s a good thing. We have to go through multiple iterations to figure out what works, and be the intern in our business before we can be the CEO.

If we forced our businesses to grow up faster we’d miss out on the powerful discoveries, market research, and incremental microshifts we get from slowing down.

In this episode, I’ll share why slow growth is so much better than overnight success.

Moms are notorious for letting clutter crowd our space. We rarely feel like we have our own dedicated space in our homes, and we’re always looking for a tiny nook and cranny to work and run our businesses.

Decluttering isn’t just about having a cleaner, more organized house, it’s about creating the space that supports our mental and emotional health. How does decluttering put us in creative flow and help us get more done?

In this episode, founder of Motherhood Simplified and Boss Mom Virtual Retreat speaker, Krista Lockwood returns to talk about the power of decluttering and creating space.

Our physical environment can support us in being who we naturally are. -Krista Lockwood

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Why declutter benefits our businesses
How does a declutter aid our creativity and put our brains into go-mode?

  • How to create a nook of productivity in your home
Do we have to carve out a huge space for ourselves and our work, or could smaller actually be better?

  • How to eliminate visual, mental and emotional barriers
How do we clear away clutter so cleaning doesn’t become a procrastination task or an excuse to avoid more important stuff?

Guest Bio

Krista Lockwood is the Founder of Motherhood Simplified, where she teaches decluttering for moms who don’t want to be full blown minimalists. In 2013, she and her husband moved from Alaska to Florida with only one suitcase each. While she doesn't believe you need to go that extreme, she has been able to master the balance of having enough, but not too much. Krista strongly believes we all have what it takes to create the lives and homes we want, no matter what that looks like. On top of her courses offered on decluttering, Krista is the host of the Motherhood Simplified Podcast.

One of the biggest pieces of marketing advice we’re given is to put considerable effort towards writing really good content - that the more well-written an email, sales page or website is, the better it is at connecting with people.

The truth is, filling pages with content just to tick a box isn’t just exhausting, it can also work against us.

What matters more than the content is the message and its ability to tap into people’s hearts and souls. In this episode, I’m going to share why writing good content shouldn’t be our primary focus, and how this actually makes marketing less stressful.

Business and spreading the message that you want to spread shouldn’t be exhausting, it should be invigorating, passionate, life-giving, exciting and impactful. -Dana Malstaff

Going viral is something many business owners desire and even chase on social media, but does it actually help you and your business? Of course, going viral can draw more attention to your business, but it doesn’t have to be the primary goal behind every piece of content we create.

In this episode, I talk about the content that’s best for you to create instead of focusing on going viral.

A million of the wrong people are really unhelpful to your business. -Dana Malstaff
