Whether online or in person, children are bullied every single day, and as moms, we can sometimes feel a little powerless over the situation. How do we even begin to help them through the experience?

Better yet, how can our kids find what they need to not only deal with the experience, but rise from it and assist others, through the help of their peers?

In this episode, mother-daughter duo and co-founders of Girl Gang Strong, Kennishia and Kyree Duffus share how they turned Kyree’s experience with cyberbullying into a platform to empower young girls.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • The first step to helping our daughters deal with bullies

How can we equip our daughters with everything they need to handle bullies, online or in person?

  • How to help our children stand up for their beliefs

For kids and adults alike, it’s easy to fall into a rut where we go with what our friends are doing or saying, even if we don’t necessarily agree with it ourselves. What can we do to break that cycle?

  • The best time to help girls grow their confidence

When do young girls go from feisty and headstrong to doubting themselves, and what can we, as moms, do about it?

Growing a business takes a ton of time - something many Boss Moms just don’t have enough of. The solution is to make more time, and the only way to do that is by hiring people.

For small business owners, onboarding freelancers is the most economical route, but how do we get started with that? What are the biggest differences between hiring freelancers and appointing employees, and how can we ensure we’re finding the best fit for the job?

In this episode, creator of The Hiring Fix course, Emily Perron shares the right way to hire freelance talent.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • Who to hire first

Which roles should we onboard first, and how can we be sure we’re making the right hires for our needs?

  • How to get better at delegating

For many business owners, it’s tempting to try to do everything ourselves. How can we get more intentional about handing tasks over to others?

  • The difference between micromanagement and checking in

Is it possible to ensure our recruits are on the right track without making them feel like we’re constantly looking over their shoulder?

Few things feel as exciting as creating a business around the things we use in our own lives, and sometimes, our coping mechanisms can turn into professional ventures.

How can we turn something like meditation for stress alleviation into a business, so we can use what’s helped us to assist countless others? How can we fall in love with our daily practices enough to promote them?

In this episode, CEO of Expectful, Nathalie Walton shares how she became the co-founder of a business that helped her through her difficult pregnancy.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to develop a regular meditation practice

Most of us have heard about the benefits of meditation, but how can we find the time (and the willpower!) to get started?

  • How stress impacts fertility

What can we do to reduce the effects stress has on our reproductive systems?

  • How to get started with hypnobirthing

What is hypnobirthing, and how can we more women start using it in their own birth plans?

Guest Bio-

Nathalie Walton is the CEO and Co-Founder of Expectful, the number one go-to wellness app for women and growing families.

While she was working at some of the world’s most admired companies, Airbnb, Google, and eBay, she was always on a constant search for deeper fulfillment. This search launched a self-discovery process that resulted in the cultivation of a wellness & mindfulness practice; Nathalie began meditating and practicing yoga daily, became mindful of her eating, and read incessantly about finding purpose. Not long after, she became pregnant and discovered that she was at high risk for placental challenges in the second half of her pregnancy. She went from an uneventful pregnancy to a high-stress pregnancy where every day she worried about her baby’s survival. During her third trimester, she saw an ad for Expectful, which was not only life-changing but the next step into her future. Within a week of diving into the meditations and deeping her hypnobirthing practice, her condition managed to stabilize and she made it to term.

After becoming familiar with Expectful, she soon met Mark Krassner, who was looking for the right person to succeed him as CEO/Co-Founder. As a user, a new mother, a longstanding wellness enthusiast, and the person who built the roadmap for scaling Google’s Local Commerce offerings, this was the perfect opportunity for Nathalie.

Nathalie knew that she was passionate about the prospect of making Expectful available to every pregnant woman, especially those whose doctors hadn’t offered them the support and resources they could be utilizing.

Since becoming CEO, Nathalie has raised over $4M for Expectful. As Expectful’s CEO, as of September 2020, Nathalie’s mission is to solve the wellbeing crisis facing the 21 million women in the U.S. who are new parents, pregnant, or aspiring to conceive.

There's a huge difference between having people who drift in and out of our lives and being surrounded by truly great human beings who will help us achieve anything we set our minds to.

How can we start saying no to the relationships that don't serve us, so we can focus all our energies on the connections that consistently inspire and fulfil us, instead? Is it even possible, when so many women struggle with saying no? Where do we get the confidence to believe we can say no, in the first place?

In honor of our 500th episode, author, podcaster and productivity expert, Whitnee Lynn Hawthorne shares how to start saying no to the things that stunt our growth, so we have more space to say yes to the things we want to do.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

  • How to build lives that make us happy

Once we've moved past the stage of self-preservation, are we spending our time doing things that really fulfil us?

  • 1 thing to remember when saying no to something

For years, women have been taught that saying no is a sign of weakness. Is there any truth to that, or are we way off the mark?

  • The key to a guilt-free NO

How can we stop feeling bad for saying no to things we don't want to do? Is it possible to do it without hurting anyone's feelings?
