The Boss Mom Podcast

Welcome AMAZING BOSS MOM We are so glad you found us because that means you have a burning desire to create something in this world...something that positively impacts people AND also makes you money. You are in the right place. Here at Boss Mom, we know all too well the challenges of raising babies and businesses at the same time and you need more than just great resources (which we have) you also need a strong support system (we have that too). Just like all moms you need a simple business because life is complex and you should never have to apologize for having a sometimes unpredictable schedule. You can build a really successful (and profitable) business in 15 hours a week, you just have to know how (and we are going to show you). We interview amazing ladies who share their struggles and successes as well as solo episodes where I guide you through our Nurture to Convert System designed to help Boss Moms raise their business and babies at the same time. I'm Dana Malstaff, founder and CEO of Boss Mom LLC, and I'll be your host.

Many women are hesitant to pitch themselves to be on podcasts because they fear they may not be welcomed, or that they don’t have the right stories to share, and this is especially true for women of color.

Let’s face it, it’s difficult to compliment ourselves, so how can we overcome that? And for those of us who do have a platform, how can we encourage more women to feel more comfortable with pitching us?

On this episode, Visibility Strategist and Relationship Facilitator, Amelia Roberts shares why it’s so important for everyone to share the information within themselves, and how to pitch our stories.

3 Things You’ll Learn in This Episode

Do the mindset work

So often, we hold back from sharing our ideas because we aren’t sure they’re enough. A great way to combat this is by hiring a coach, someone who can help us sort through good ideas and those that need tweaking, and who can hold us accountable to taking action.

Do the research

To be featured on a podcast, do some research on the audience. Understand what they’re struggling with, and pitch with that in mind. If we know we have a solution to a common problem, we’re the perfect candidate to share our stories.

Create an inclusive environment

For those of us who do have a platform to share stories, it’s important to create a culture where everyone feels comfortable pitching to us. Do some research to find out how to serve those who aren’t pitching to us.

Guest Bio

Amelia Roberts is a Visibility Strategist and Relationship Facilitator, and Founder of Solutions by Amelia. Amelia is a digital native who officially became a practitioner of online marketing twelve years ago with a role as a virtual assistant. Student loans from nursing school inspired her to put her love of observing human nature, showing empathy and previous marketing experience to work in new ways and as a result, she was able to pay off her student loans in under 2 years as a social media manager.

Now alongside other roles, you can find Amelia helping under-recognized professionals stand out and "get first dates" in business so that they can become thought leaders in the healthcare industry and beyond.

Amelia is the host of The Business of Nursing podcast.

When she is not optimizing human potential Amelia enjoys planning real and imagined food tours.
